Happy 4th of July

We had a GREAT Independence day...We hope you did too! We started the day watching the 4th of July parade in downtown Prattville. See the picture above of Evan watching for the parade to come! He enjoyed it and caught lots of candy.

We then ate lunch at Mellow Mushroom because Jason and I didn't get our act together to cook. Evan sleep through lunch...so we came home for him to eat.

We took the boys to the Bass Pro Shop to look at the fish! Which was followed by resting at the house until dinner time.

Jason wanted BBQ but the place was closed he wanted to eat at. We ended up at McDonalds. There, Evan got to play in the play area for the first time...this was his treat for being sweet during dinner.

We followed dinner by a photo shoot and playing outside. We watching the fireworks on TV and out our window. Evan didn't like being outside because the fireworks were too loud.

It was a simple day for us...but it was good!

Seven Months

Dear Parker,
You are 7 months old now. WOW! Time has really gotten away from me. You are wearing 12 months clothes. Size 3/4 diapers. You nurse every 4 hours and eat 3 meals a day. We have started giving you finger foods and you are doing well with them. You are also being offered a cup...we are trying to find one you like! You are still waking in the middle of the night for a midnight snack...by the way, that is NOT cool! You are still struggling with reflux and we are giving you 2.5 ml twice a day of prilosec. We have an appointment with the specialist at the end of July to discuss were we stand with your reflux.

You are growing like a weed. You have mastered sitting up and rolling both ways. You enjoy jumping and normally jump when your feet hit a solid surface. You are very interested in watching your brother play and you find him to be funny. You love things that make lots of noise and you are currently putting E V E R Y T H I N G in your mouth. Paper is your favorite thing to eat as of late. However, you are such a blessing! Your smile and laugh make me realize that everything will be okay. Oh, your laugh sounds just like Evan's laugh!!! LOVE IT! Thank you for letting me cuddle and hug on you because your brother does not allow it! I can't wait to see you change and grow over the next few months!

We pray for you daily that you will come to know the Lord at a young age and that he will use you in a mighty way! I know you are going to be such a blessing to his kingdom! I am excited to see what his plans are for your life. May Daddy and I be the example you need us to be in order to lead you in the right direction!

We love you more and more each day!
Mommy and Daddy

Silly glasses

O H M Y! The last time we were at my Mom's house she had bought Evan these glasses. We got a good laugh out of him wearing them! It was too funny!

Number 15- The Zoo

Do you remember this post? We have accomplished # 15 off that list!!! We took Evan to Zoo Weekend in Montgomery back in April.

Evan enjoyed walking around looking at the animals, people and trees with his Pops, GiGi, and Daddy.

He marched on this piece of metal for like 5 minutes. He loved the sound it made when he marched! He would have kept going but we needed to move on. The smallest things make him so happy.
Evan and Pops stopping for a picture.

Sweet Parker enjoyed riding and napping in the stroller! He did WONDERFUL for his first full day outing!

One of Evan's favorite things that day was sitting in the fire truck! He was beyond excited!

And we saved the best for last...the train ride! He loved it!
They also had bounce houses there in which Evan told his Daddy he wanted to jump. Jason went and bought tickets and Evan wouldn't set foot in the thing! Oh Well...we live and learn with a two year old!

We ended the day eating dinner at Wing's with the Davis family! Aunt's and Uncle's included!

The trip to the Zoo was a success and we will be making another one...on a less crowded day!

Four Months

Parker,
You turned 4 months old on March 30, 2011. You weighed 16 lbs 12 oz and 25 and three-fourth inches long. You are in the top 20% for weight and height. You are wearing size 2 diapers and size 6 months clothes. You are eating every three hours. You have started laughing and have learned to roll over from your stomach to back. You are holding your head and chest up well while on your stomach. You still wake up too many times at night (according to mommy). However, you have adjusted to traveling/sleeping at your grandparents house. You enjoy taking baths and love your paci. You are starting to play with toys more and have taking a liking to your lovey aka "go-go". Your favorite thing to do right now is watch your brother play. We started feeding you rice cereal a few days ago and you loved it! You are still struggling with reflux and colic...but we know those days will end soon. You are such a sweet baby and so hug able! You are the perfect addition to our little family. God always knows what he is doing! We love you more than you will know.

Specialist/ Upper GI

WARNING...this might be a boring post. I wanted to record our experience since I use my blog as a scrapbook.

Since Parker was about a month and a half he has had problems with his stomach/ gas. He was already having reflux problems. He would scream while nursing and scream after nursing. It seems that he cried and screamed all the time. Our pediatrician referred us to a specialist. We made it to the appointment only to find out his was COLIC...ugh!!!! She changed Parker's reflux medication to something stronger (in which we later found out that the medication made his stomach issues worse). She also suggested that he have an upper GI conducted...well, that was a nightmare!!! The nurse called me to schedule it and I was told Parker have the procedure done in Prattville...I thought that would be awesome because we had to be there at 7am. We were told Parker couldn't eat 2 hours before the procedure. Well the day before the procedure, Baptist Hospital called me at 3:30pm to get our information so we wouldn't have to wait too long in the morning. I wanted to make sure it was scheduled in Prattville but the lady told me...NO, it was scheduled in Montgomery for 7 am. I thought great, that means I have to leave 30 minutes earlier than planned. She told me I could call the specialist office and get the locating changed...well the specialist office closed at 2:30pm...an hour before the lady had called to get my information. So to Montgomery we will go. We arrived early the next morning...like 6:45am. I signed us in and we waited, and waited, and waited. Did I mentioned that we waited? I went to ask what was going on...they said the doctor's office had not faxed the orders for the procedure. FINALLY, at like 8am we got called back....now remember Parker had not had anything to eat since 5am. However, he did wonderful! The procedure only took about 15 minutes and he only cried once. The doctor said he only has reflux...PRAISE THE LORD it was nothing more!!!!

3 months old

Dear Parker,
You are now 3 months old...even though there is not 30 days in the month of February we say you turned 3 months on the last day of the month. You are smiling more and more...it still melts my heart!!! You are wearing size 2 diapers and wearing 6 months clothes. You are eating every 3 hours now. You are struggling to nurse well due to stomach issues aka colic (we took you to a specialist and she think you are just colic and nothing serious is wrong...PRAISE THE LORD!!). You are still sleeping pretty well most nights! You are becoming more alert and love looking at things around you. You make tummy time hard because you HATE IT! you cry every time I put you on your stomach. You are growing and gaining weight well! We are praying and trusting that God is going to heal you and your colic will go away after you turn 4 months old. You continue to bring joy to our home. We can't wait until you can play and interact with your older brother. We pray that you and Evan will be the best buddies! You are such a blessing!
Love you,
Momma and Dada

Poor Baby

Poor Evan. Last Monday night started running a low grade fever. He already had a runny nose and a cough. Well, we just thought he had a really bad cold. We waited three days to take him to the doctor because that what they want you to do. He went to the doc last Thursday and was told he had the flu. It was then too late to do anything. He has now almost recovered and is feeling much better. It was so sad (the sad that hurts a mommies heart) to see him so sick. This is one of those things I would rather him not have ever again.

So, Evan get better and Parker now has a cold we are battling with.

I am more that ready for the warmer weather and sickness to GO AWAY!!!!!!

Hoping to be all better soon!

Be Mine

Happy Valentines! We had a good start to our valentines...but later came Evan's sickness (more on that later).

Evan loves his brother!

Parker thinks he is number 1 with the ladies.

and Evan thinks he is a ladies man.

Huh? We are raising two kids that are already liking the ladies. Aren't they too young? HaHa! Don't you like their Valentine's shirt's?

On another note Jason and I got to go on a dinner date to Logan's for Valentines! It was a nice change to be able to sit and talk to my husband without kids.

He brought me these:

Two Months

Dear Parker,
You are 2 months old now. You have started showing us your smile just recently and it lights up my world! You are so sweet and you are sleeping much better than your brother ever thought about sleeping. However, you are having some serious stomach problems. The doctor is not sure what is going on. You are already taking reflux medication twice a day. The doctor told us to try maylox twice daily...we will see if that helps. I have faith that things will get better as you grow and get older! You bring so much joy into our home! We can't wait to watch you grow and share life with you! We love you very much!

Two Years

I know I am late with my post...but better late than never, right?
So back in December a certain little one turned two. I can't believe it has already been two short years. I think time gets much fast after you have littles.

Evan,
You have brought so much joy, laughter, and sweetness into our family. There have also been some tears shed as well. It has been amazing watching you grow and change these past two years. Your DaDa and I are proud to call you our son. God has richly blessed us with your sweet spirit and fun personality. We are excited to see what the future holds for you! We love you more than words can describe.

Whats up with this little dude:

  • He has adjusted very well to sleeping in a twin bed.
  • He is still wearing size 5 diapers.
  • He take one 2 hour nap daily.
  • He goes to bed around 8:30pm and wakes around 6:30am.
  • He loves chicken nuggets and french fries.
  • He is still loving anything with wheels: cars, trucks, monster trucks, construction equipment.
  • Outside is his favorite place to be.
  • He is into knocking everything down right now...building, water tower, etc. (He learned this from his construction video) I know, Jason and I are great parents for letting him watch such things.
  • He loves going to Mother's Day Out!
  • He is growing to love his little brother.
  • He enjoys building "big tall's" with anybody that will play.
  • He likes looking at books.
  • He loves stickers.
  • He is learning to pitch a fit like no other.
  • He thinks it's cool to throw his toys when he is mad.
  • He has started potty training...but thinks he did a" good job" by just sitting on the potty for two seconds.
  • His vocabulary is out of this WORLD! I never knew my two year old would know so much.
  • You must watch what you say or he will repeat it.
  • His favorite TV show: WipeOut. Again, Jason and I get the parents of the year award for letting him watch this.
I know there is way more than what my brain can remember right now. I wish I was good about writing things down. So to sum it all up...I love this stage right now minus the tantrums. He is so much fun to play with and talk to. I can't wait to watch him change even more...praying that I will try to soak up ever moment, as that go by so fast!

The Davis Family in 2010

2010 was a very busy year for the Davis family. We had many good changes this past year. However, I would have left a few things off. I know that God has blessed us beyond measure and we are so thankful!

To start the year off, our house in Dothan sold after being on the market for 8 months. Even though I was sad we were leaving Dothan, I was very glad and thankful our house sold!

In February, we packed up our house for the big move. I also went to Mobile for Mardi Gras...I had a blast!
March was a sad time for me and a time I would like to forget. We moved to Prattville...this was a hard transition for me but it has gotten better.

In April, I found out I was pregnant with our second child.

In May, we bought this piece of land and the building process began!
In June, We enjoyed the summer heat by playing in the sprinklers at the apartment

In July, we celebrated the 4th by going swimming at Aunt Melissa's and Uncle Donald's.

In August, We moved into our new home. I also turned a year old.

In September, we enjoyed playing outside at our new house as much as possible.

In October, My mom and I took Evan to the pumpkin patch in Clanton. We had a great time!

In November, we enjoyed Thanksgiving...but most importantly we welcomed out second child into the world.

In December, we celebrated Evan's 2nd Birthday! We enjoyed Christmas holidays and Parker turned one month old.

Christmas in Picture's

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas this year. It was special to have two children this year! It was also fun to see Evan enjoy spending time with his family. He gets so excited when people come to visit.
We only traveled the day after Christmas. My parents and the Davis family came to our house this year since Parker was so young.
Although we don't believe that Christmas is about gift giving, we had a great time watching Evan's excitement when he received new toys.

So here is Evan's Christmas in a few picture's:

Opening presents from MeMe and Poppa

His new digger...he LOVES it!

Checking out his new toys Christmas morning

Knocking down the tower daddy built with his new blocks.

Playing with his Cat trucks.

Playing with his train.

Opening presents from the Davis family

Looking at his new tractor book.

Opening more presents.
