2 month Check-up

On Tuesday, Evan had his two month check-up with Doctor Barron. Of course we got a great report. He weighed 14 lbs and 9oz. He is now 24 inches long. He is in the 95 percentile for weight and height! The Doc thinks he looks great! He got his shots and he took it like a man! I was a proud mom!!

On the daily side of life...Evan is sleeping 8 hours at night...PRAISE THE LORD!! Really I do praise God for such a precious blessing and what a Great baby he has blessed us with! He also naps pretty good throughout the day. However, he still sleeps in a car seat...we are trying to work on sleeping in a bed!

He is now laughing and smiling more and more...motherhood is becoming better and better! Developmentally he is doing great!

Happy 2 month Birthday Evan!!

Today is Evan's two month birthday! Yea Evan!! He continues to grow and grow!! He now weighs 13 pounds and 11 oz. However, we are going to the doctor on Tuesday so we will update more then!

This picture is right before we left to go eat lunch with daddy at Smokey Joe's! He had a great time and was a good little boy!

Today I decided to take some pictures of some of the different faces Evan makes. However, I did not capture them very well because I can't seem to take pictures that fast. I will have to get better. I am enjoying watching his facial expression during the day...it seems I notice a new one every day. I am excited that he is starting to smile a little more and I can't wait until this becomes more frequent.

ROLLIN, ROLLIN, ROLLIN

I was sooooo excited this morning during Evan's "tummy time" he ROLLED OVER from his stomach to his back! It was so awesome and I just clapped and praised him!! I tried to get him to go again but he did not want to...but he was also sleepy.

I wish I had a picture...but it happened so fast! I just had to share because I am so excited!

6 weeks!!!

Well, here we are at 6 weeks already. It has been exciting to watch Evan change just within the past two weeks. He has learned that he does not always have to cry to tell me he is hungry. It has been amazing to watch his cues that he is hungry.

We are working with him to help him push himself up...he is trying. However, he is so alert now and its so fun to play!! He laughs and smile some while playing. He also has learned how to hold his rattle!!!

He now enjoys swinging and riding in his stroller!! It has also been a relief for me because I can put him in the swing and know he is fine and then I can get exercise while he enjoys looking around outside.

He still has good and bad nights with sleeping. Last night he sleep for seven hours...which is awesome! Other nights he sleeps four hours at a time. I am working on getting him on a routine...Hoping that he will get better as far as napping and sleeping at night. However, he is still sleeping in his car seat at night...during the day I am working with him on sleeping on his back. He is making progress!! Just pray that he will sleep in his crib soon!

I made it back to church this past Sunday and it felt so great!! Evan went in the service for the music but was waking so I took him to the nursing room to eat! It was just great to get out. Following church we went to Wendy's to eat. These are big steps for me because I have been so afraid of taking him in public because I get nervous when he gets upset...but I'm getting over that!

So today, we went to eat with Jason at the Mall and I was able to look around some before it was time for him to eat again.

I feel that things are getting much better for me and I am so excited that I feel more comfortable taking him in public!

I can't wait to see what is to come in the next few weeks and he continues to grow and develop!

One Month and Counting

I can't believe that Evan is already a month old. It does not seem like it was a month ago, but then again it seems like it was forever ago when I was in the hospital. However, it has probably been the hardest month in my life. It is getting better!

It has been so amazing to watch as Evan grow and change over this past month. He now weighs over 10lbs and seems to gain 5oz daily...not really, but it feels like it! He does not have trouble eating.

We have learned to let Evan sleep in his car seat at night for now since he will not sleep in the cradle. He is such a loud sleeper!!! But I have learned to tune it out.

I have been really surprised how much Evan loves taking a bath!! He will just lay there and seems so content. I am glad that is not something I have to battle with.

Developmentally Evan has amazed me!!! He has found his hands and will hold them together while eating. He can lay on his tummy and push himself up and turn his head from side to side. He has shown that sweet smile a few times, but we are still working on that. He also discovered his voice..he now cries really loud. I can't wait until his sweet personality is revealed more and more!!!

Jason and I have learned that parenthood is not possible without the help of God. I have learned that in all times I must trust that he will give me the motivation for each day.

I am so excited about this weekend...we are going home for the first time!! Evan will get to meet lots of new people!!!
