Happy 4th of July

We had a GREAT Independence day...We hope you did too! We started the day watching the 4th of July parade in downtown Prattville. See the picture above of Evan watching for the parade to come! He enjoyed it and caught lots of candy.

We then ate lunch at Mellow Mushroom because Jason and I didn't get our act together to cook. Evan sleep through lunch...so we came home for him to eat.

We took the boys to the Bass Pro Shop to look at the fish! Which was followed by resting at the house until dinner time.

Jason wanted BBQ but the place was closed he wanted to eat at. We ended up at McDonalds. There, Evan got to play in the play area for the first time...this was his treat for being sweet during dinner.

We followed dinner by a photo shoot and playing outside. We watching the fireworks on TV and out our window. Evan didn't like being outside because the fireworks were too loud.

It was a simple day for us...but it was good!

Seven Months

Dear Parker,
You are 7 months old now. WOW! Time has really gotten away from me. You are wearing 12 months clothes. Size 3/4 diapers. You nurse every 4 hours and eat 3 meals a day. We have started giving you finger foods and you are doing well with them. You are also being offered a cup...we are trying to find one you like! You are still waking in the middle of the night for a midnight snack...by the way, that is NOT cool! You are still struggling with reflux and we are giving you 2.5 ml twice a day of prilosec. We have an appointment with the specialist at the end of July to discuss were we stand with your reflux.

You are growing like a weed. You have mastered sitting up and rolling both ways. You enjoy jumping and normally jump when your feet hit a solid surface. You are very interested in watching your brother play and you find him to be funny. You love things that make lots of noise and you are currently putting E V E R Y T H I N G in your mouth. Paper is your favorite thing to eat as of late. However, you are such a blessing! Your smile and laugh make me realize that everything will be okay. Oh, your laugh sounds just like Evan's laugh!!! LOVE IT! Thank you for letting me cuddle and hug on you because your brother does not allow it! I can't wait to see you change and grow over the next few months!

We pray for you daily that you will come to know the Lord at a young age and that he will use you in a mighty way! I know you are going to be such a blessing to his kingdom! I am excited to see what his plans are for your life. May Daddy and I be the example you need us to be in order to lead you in the right direction!

We love you more and more each day!

Silly glasses

O H M Y! The last time we were at my Mom's house she had bought Evan these glasses. We got a good laugh out of him wearing them! It was too funny!

Number 15- The Zoo

Do you remember this post? We have accomplished # 15 off that list!!! We took Evan to Zoo Weekend in Montgomery back in April.

Evan enjoyed walking around looking at the animals, people and trees with his Pops, GiGi, and Daddy.

He marched on this piece of metal for like 5 minutes. He loved the sound it made when he marched! He would have kept going but we needed to move on. The smallest things make him so happy.
Evan and Pops stopping for a picture.

Sweet Parker enjoyed riding and napping in the stroller! He did WONDERFUL for his first full day outing!

One of Evan's favorite things that day was sitting in the fire truck! He was beyond excited!

And we saved the best for last...the train ride! He loved it!
They also had bounce houses there in which Evan told his Daddy he wanted to jump. Jason went and bought tickets and Evan wouldn't set foot in the thing! Oh Well...we live and learn with a two year old!

We ended the day eating dinner at Wing's with the Davis family! Aunt's and Uncle's included!

The trip to the Zoo was a success and we will be making another one...on a less crowded day!

Four Months

Parker,
You turned 4 months old on March 30, 2011. You weighed 16 lbs 12 oz and 25 and three-fourth inches long. You are in the top 20% for weight and height. You are wearing size 2 diapers and size 6 months clothes. You are eating every three hours. You have started laughing and have learned to roll over from your stomach to back. You are holding your head and chest up well while on your stomach. You still wake up too many times at night (according to mommy). However, you have adjusted to traveling/sleeping at your grandparents house. You enjoy taking baths and love your paci. You are starting to play with toys more and have taking a liking to your lovey aka "go-go". Your favorite thing to do right now is watch your brother play. We started feeding you rice cereal a few days ago and you loved it! You are still struggling with reflux and colic...but we know those days will end soon. You are such a sweet baby and so hug able! You are the perfect addition to our little family. God always knows what he is doing! We love you more than you will know.

Specialist/ Upper GI

WARNING...this might be a boring post. I wanted to record our experience since I use my blog as a scrapbook.

Since Parker was about a month and a half he has had problems with his stomach/ gas. He was already having reflux problems. He would scream while nursing and scream after nursing. It seems that he cried and screamed all the time. Our pediatrician referred us to a specialist. We made it to the appointment only to find out his was COLIC...ugh!!!! She changed Parker's reflux medication to something stronger (in which we later found out that the medication made his stomach issues worse). She also suggested that he have an upper GI conducted...well, that was a nightmare!!! The nurse called me to schedule it and I was told Parker have the procedure done in Prattville...I thought that would be awesome because we had to be there at 7am. We were told Parker couldn't eat 2 hours before the procedure. Well the day before the procedure, Baptist Hospital called me at 3:30pm to get our information so we wouldn't have to wait too long in the morning. I wanted to make sure it was scheduled in Prattville but the lady told me...NO, it was scheduled in Montgomery for 7 am. I thought great, that means I have to leave 30 minutes earlier than planned. She told me I could call the specialist office and get the locating changed...well the specialist office closed at 2:30pm...an hour before the lady had called to get my information. So to Montgomery we will go. We arrived early the next morning...like 6:45am. I signed us in and we waited, and waited, and waited. Did I mentioned that we waited? I went to ask what was going on...they said the doctor's office had not faxed the orders for the procedure. FINALLY, at like 8am we got called back....now remember Parker had not had anything to eat since 5am. However, he did wonderful! The procedure only took about 15 minutes and he only cried once. The doctor said he only has reflux...PRAISE THE LORD it was nothing more!!!!
